Mobility-Aware Drop Precedence Scheme in DiffServ-Enabled Mobile Network Systems

چکیده

In DiffServ-enabled mobile network systems, TCP sender may time out if packet loss occurs at handover event. Thus, TCP window size may be reduced temporarily due to packet loss. Under overloaded traffic situation in local IP-managed network right after handover, furthermore, the sending rate of TCP packets that a mobile host generates may not be enough to keep its contract service rate on SLA (service level agreement). Therefore, giving temporal priority to the packets in a handover flow can compensate for the reduction of packet sending rate after handover. In this paper, we propose a mobilityaware drop precedence scheme in order to alleviate the performance loss from temporal disconnection or the reduction of sending rate.

Diffserv extensions for QoS provisioning in IP mobility environments

QLN QLN Domain A Mobile station A QGS Radio access network Radio access network Local IP network DiffServ itself lacks a simple and scalable bandwidth resource management scheme for a dynamic environment as an IP-based RAN. It is, therefore, necessary to extend DiffServ model for admission control and on-demand resource reservation under IP mobility environments.

Evaluation of a Mobility/QoS-aware Architecture for Mobile Internet

This paper addresses the issue of mobility and QoS management principles as well as the mobility and QoS management integration in the sense of build a QoS-aware architecture for mobile Internet. After covering the mobility and QoS management principles and integration, this paper also proposes a new QoS-aware architecture for mobile Internet. This new architecture takes into account the specif...

An optimal bandwidth allocation and data droppage scheme for differentiated services in a wireless network

We present an optimal proportional bandwidth allocation and data droppage scheme to provide differentiated services (DiffServ) for streaming multimedia data in a single-hop wireless network. Our resource allocation scheme finds the optimal bandwidth allocation and data drop rates under minimum quality-of-service (QoS) constraints. It combines the desirable attributes of relative DiffServ and ab...

Development of Analytical Approach to Evaluate (DiffServ-MIPv6) Scheme

The aspiration of Mobile IPv6 is to provide uninterrupted network connectivity while the mobile node is moving between different access points or domains. Nonetheless, it does not provide QoS guaranteed to its users same as the traditional Internet protocol IP. It merely can provide Best-Effort (BE) service to all its applications despite of the application requirements. The future wireless net...

A QoS/Mobility-Aware Model for Mobile Internet

This paper proposes a QoS micro-mobility solution capable of providing QoS support for global mobility. The solution comprises enhancements with regards to the mobility management of Mobile IPv6 (MIPv6) and in the resource management of the Differentiated Services (DiffServ) QoS model. The mobility management of MIPv6 was extended with fast and local handovers in order to improve its efficiency...
